What’s The Deal With The Cups?

Hey everyone, Kent here! I volunteered to write some mildly entertaining drivel for our blog to keep you occupied for a few minutes. I also volunteered to send approximately 450 cups (so far) to approximately 450 locations across North America, but that’s a story for another time. Hopefully that time is “never.”

You might be wondering, “Ok guys, I donated $75 to your project, now where is my cool and totally awesome cup?” I want to answer this question for you. The simple answer is that we’ve been working on ordering the cups from a supplier in Seattle, Washington. Our order for five hundred kiln-fired glass coffee mugs with fancy logos on the side was placed a couple of weeks ago, but the rather large quantity of cups we requested caught our supplier off-guard.

Timing, as they say, is everything. Ours is terrible. Which is funny if you think about it, because we all like to sing. Our supplier had just sent cups out to Amazon and had just received an order ahead of ours. To quote the supplier’s sales rep: “500 is a good sized order but really it is timing. This just happened to hit when we were running low.”

The sales rep reassured our friend Ryan that she would do her best to accommodate our order promptly. She gave us an estimated lead time of 4-6 weeks for the printing process. Once they find all the stock that I’m personally sure is hiding out in their kitchen, living room, and various warehouses, they can start on the logo printing. Once the printing process is done, they will send me, the hapless logistics guy, five hundred kiln-fired glass coffee mugs with fancy logos on the side.

After I receive the mugs, then it will take me 4-6 weeks to print out the labels, another 4-6 weeks to put the labels on the boxes, and another 4-6 weeks to actually get the coffee cups to the post office to get them shipped to you, our beloved donors. I am, of course, joking about the time it will take me, not about us loving our donors.

Joking aside, I do not have the raw experience of packing four hundred and fifty kiln-fired glass coffee mugs with fancy logos on the side into four hundred and fifty boxes. I also have not yet had the experience of printing out four hundred and fifty shipping labels and slapping them on four hundred and fifty boxes. What I’m trying to convey here is that it’s going to take some work. I will probably even miss a few addresses in the mad rush to get the cups out the door. I will probably even send somebody multiple cups by accident. That’s all a way out in the future though.

So, to make a long story short, we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our kiln-fired glass coffee cups with fancy logos on the side. We apologize for the delay and hope that you will be patient while waiting for our token of appreciation to you for your donation.

While we do like to have fun here at Stanza, we do take our mission very seriously. We want to be transparent with what’s happening here. It may sound like we’re being light-hearted about everything on our blog, but the writers on staff (Kaden and I) want to give you something that’s entertaining to read. The process is so much more than just getting cups, or developing an app, or getting copyrights for songs. We will keep you updated on our progress as we go along.

You can contact us by going to https://stanzamusic.org/contact/ or messaging one of us listed on https://stanzamusic.org/about/. And, as always, our donations are still open at https://stanzamusic.org/donate/. Thank you for sticking with us on our journey so far!
