Greetings to all, and happy new year from the team here at Stanza! It’s been a busy Christmas season, but we’re still making progress toward our goals. As we enter the long mid-winter months, hopefully we can make use of the lengthy evenings and snowy days to accelerate the process.
We apologize to those who ordered mugs over Christmas time and have not received them yet. They have been shipped out as of this Friday. so you should get them before long. (To those of you who don’t yet have the privilege of sipping your favorite brew from a beautiful kiln-fired glass mug: we still have around a hundred of them in stock. Get one while you can!)
We are proud to announce that we now have over a thousand songs in the Stanza database! Some of our more studious workers have been putting a lot of effort into the cause, and we are very grateful for it. We’re also continuing to work on getting permissions from the many copyright holders out there so we can get their songs on Stanza. We still have a long way to go, but we are not discouraged.
We are aware that we have quite a few people wanting to get their hands on a beta app and start testing it with us. We also want that to happen soon, but the big bugs all need to be squashed before we give it to those of you with magnifying glasses. I’ve consulted the team, and, while nothing is certain, they say that the iOS beta could be in the hands of testers by April or so. Once again, this is all very tentative. We have also started the process of finding someone to code our Android app, but for now that version will be further behind.
Our backend boys have been working on fixing bugs and making improvements to our admin panel. They have also been working on user management, subscriptions, and contract generation. Turns out there is a whole lot of infrastructure that needs to be created and/or integrated before an app like Stanza can run smoothly, and we thank you for your patience.
Also, thanks again for being interested in Stanza and for showing your support and enthusiasm. It’s you guys who are really making this thing go by donating to the cause and encouraging us. We will try to do better about sticking to our current blog schedule of every three weeks to keep you informed and entertained. Til next time!
